COMMUNITY DINNER
Five years ago, Keith & I began Community Dinner at Fusion, just near Hornsby station. Together with a small team of faithful volunteers we provided dinner & connection on Monday nights for approximately 30 homeless, vulnerable & lonely people from the local community. These numbers increased during lockdown & we found the facilities were becoming too crowded. God had been speaking to me for a while about moving the dinners to the Bridge. Two months ago, we made the move, not sure if everyone would make the trek up the road to a new location. To our absolute delight they all came, & thoroughly enjoyed the beautiful facilities. In fact, most of our guests can’t believe this is really a church!!
With the now larger facility we can accommodate more volunteers who enjoy spending time connecting with the guests, developing relationships & creating a sense of community. We also have an amazing team of cooks, waiters & kitchen hands who ensure everyone goes home well fed & happy! Moving to the bridge was indeed a leap of faith, & has brought great blessing to both our guests & volunteers.

ENGLISH CLASSES
During the week, about 25 students come to the English classes on Mondays and also on Wednesdays while about 4 come on Sundays. At present, these come from China, former Hong Kong, Korea, India, Iran, Indonesia, the Philippines, Cuba, Brazil. Ethiopia, Albania, Poland and the Ukraine. Also, 11 different students have come to the Easy English Bible Study in recent weeks, and they come from 5 of these countries. As well as wanting help with their English language ability, many of these students are lonely and/or are searching for God or, at least, the meaning of life. They often make new friends in the classes and some of the other teachers and I have ongoing personal contact with some of the present and former students. A number of these present students have come to the recent Church Parties and also to the Thursday Morning Coffee Hub. I know that the students are very thankful for all these opportunities. New students often come because of a recommendation from a past or a present student.

YOUTH
We have been so blessed with the facilities that we have access to for Wildcats every Friday night. We have been able to utilise a variety of spaces whether it be turning the Hub into one giant handball court or having an all-in water frenzy in the carpark. Our primary focus at Wildcats is building our young people up in the light of Christ and walking alongside them week to week. We intentionally look to create a safe space for whoever rocks up, and having a space like the Auditorium really helps to both bring people together whether it be for fun, excitement, and hype during our games or to tone it down and allow for those memorable opportunities for connection and sharing God’s word. With a lot of youth finding their own way to our gathering on a Friday night we have found more and more that those who are out and about with their friends, wander down from the station to see what we’re about. It’s such a testament to God’s goodness that each week they keep coming back and find excitement in our Friday night hangs. We ask that you’d continue to support us in prayer, especially in the lead up to the end of the year with our Wildcats Youth Camp that is being planned for Jan 2023.

KIDS
It’s been an absolute delight to have been leading kids’ ministry for the past few months. God has really worked within the team members to bring us all closer together and work more as a functional team rather than individuals, which was a main goal of mine coming into leading and something I often talked to God about. I’ve noticed that God has been very present in the lives of our kids as they have been getting more involved in worship and prayer which is such an incredible thing to watch from week to week. I know not just myself, but my team have noticed such a shift in the energy within kid’s church over the course of the year and we are so excited to see what is to come. We love our kids and are truly blessed to volunteer in such an amazing ministry.
